Frequently asked
questions
Everything you need to know about breed matching consultations, how the process works, and what to expect.
General
Dog breed matching is the process of identifying which dog breeds are the best fit for your specific lifestyle, living situation, activity level, family composition, and long-term goals. Rather than picking a breed based on appearance alone, we use a structured assessment to find breeds that will genuinely thrive in your home.
You complete a detailed lifestyle questionnaire covering your home type, activity level, family situation, work schedule, experience with dogs, and any specific preferences or concerns. Jith then analyzes 200+ breeds against your profile and delivers a personalized written report within 48 hours recommending your top 3–5 matched breeds.
Yes. Sarker Canine Match is a fully remote, online-only consulting service. We serve clients throughout the United States via email, phone, and video consultation.
No. We are an independent consulting service. We do not sell dogs, operate a kennel, or have financial relationships with breeders. Our recommendations are unbiased and based solely on what is best for your situation.
Consultations
The initial questionnaire takes approximately 15–20 minutes to complete. A follow-up video or phone consultation (if requested) typically runs 30–45 minutes. Your written breed report is delivered within 48 hours of your consultation.
Absolutely — first-time owners are one of our most common client types. We take extra care to explain breed traits, training difficulty, grooming demands, and typical costs so you go into dog ownership fully prepared.

You will need to share details about your home (type, size, yard), daily schedule, activity level, family members (including children and other pets), budget, and any specific requirements like hypoallergenic breeds or low-shedding options.

Yes. Our Breed Comparison Report service provides a detailed side-by-side analysis of 3–5 breeds you are already considering, with a clear recommendation and rationale for each.
Yes. We can specifically filter recommendations to low-shedding or so-called "hypoallergenic" breeds. We also explain the nuances — no breed is 100% allergy-free, but some are significantly better for allergy sufferers.
We primarily work with recognized breeds because they have documented, predictable traits. However, we can discuss popular mixed breeds (like Goldendoodles or Labradoodles) and their general characteristics.
We have a dedicated Senior-Friendly Dog Recommendations service. We prioritize calm temperaments, low exercise requirements, manageable grooming, and companion-focused breeds for older adults and retirees.
